Home For The Holidays
Dec 2014

T
he holiday season is upon us and we are so excited!  By the time you get this
newsletter, Thanksgiving will be past and the Christmas celebration will be on.  We are
especially anticipating Thanksgiving because all our family will be in NC to celebrate with
us.  Keith, Tamson, Carlie, Luke and Lela will be coming from MA and Morgan, Bethany,
Brielynd and Blakely will be coming from GA.  It is always a special treat anytime our
entire family can get together for that does not happen often.  Following Thanksgiving we
will be preparing to celebrate the birth of our Lord and we will be doing a lot of Face Time
and Skype in order to be a part of the Christmas celebration with our loved ones who will
be far away but close to our hearts.  Every year when Christmas arrives I am
overwhelmed by the love of God.  What a wonderful mystery that God loves us so much
that He wants to be a part of our lives, and what better way to do that than appear on earth
as a baby and live life the way we all must live it:  humans are resigned to live life in the
flesh.  I do not understand it, but I love the story of God's love for us and His desire to
reveal Himself more fully to us.  I have never seen God, I have never seen Jesus, I have
never seen an angel or the devil, but somehow in my heart I do believe That God loves
me, created me and lives within me.  I choose to believe that the greatest example of that
appeared in the birth, life, death and resurrection fo Jesus Christ.  I tell people all the time
that I have no problem living with this mystery.  Gilda and I will be married fifty years June
19, 2015.  We dated several years before we married.  To this day I have not figured out
why my wife loves me.  But I do not care when, what, how or why she loves me; I just
enjoy it and celebrate life in her love.  If I cannot figure out why my wife loves me, then why
would I expect to understand why God loves me?  I don't know why, but I am so glad that
He did, He does and He always will.

Future Plans
Dec 2014

The last newsletter reported Dale's official retirement.  Dale will no longer be receiving a
salary.  Gilda still maintains the office and keeps the ministry functioning.  This year they
only did a few revivals, and a mission trip to Honduras was very successful.  Wherever
they have served, the experiences have been great.  This is the 48th year of full-time
evangelism for the Riddles.  Their plans for the future are to enjoy as much free time as
the Lord will allow, but they will continue doing a few revivals and at least one mission trip
each year as long as they remain healthy and have the opportunity to serve.  All financial
gifts that are received will be used for the operating expenses for the ministry and for
missions.  The Riddles hope to use whatever support you provide to help continue
underwriting the mission work at home and abroad.  Your support has always bee the
key that made this work possible, and it will be your support that will determine when it
will come to an end.  God bless you all for you faithfulness and you love of Christ that has
made it possible for Dale and Gilda to travel this world sharing the Good News of Jesus.
As the old gospel song says, "Many things about tomorrow I don't seem to understand,
but I know who holds tomorrow and I know who holds my hand."
